Flap Brush Characteristics:
Flexible face, capable of conforming to concave, convex, flat and irregular surfaces.
Flap Brushes are very soft and conformable to the touch. Both the medium and hard densities allow for a controlled wheel action, maximizing removal of surface contaminants without removing critical detail or gouging the work piece.

Consistent face, capable of creating matte and satin finishes, leaving no lines on work piece.
Flap Brushes have a uniform face with evenly distributed grain and resin. The finish produced is consistent and
does not reflect lines commonly attributed with ganged arbor hole discs.
Cool running.
The abrasive material (flatstock) provides ventilation which helps dissipate heat and, therefore, runs cooler.
This provides consistent finishes without smearing or otherwise discoloring the work piece.
Smooth running.
Flap Brushes run vibration-free. The benefit reduces chatter on the work piece, leading to more consistent
finishes and less operator and machine fatigue.
Applications
Typically, Flap Brushes are used for producing uniform finishes on Aluminum, Brass and Stainless Steel. They
produce long line brushed finishes. Density, pressure and angle determine the ability of the Flap Brush to
remove burrs, oxidation and handling marks. The finish produced will be a direct result of the density and
grade.
Finishing
- Grain finish on brass strike plates for door hardware.
- Satin finish on builders' hardware (cabinet handles, door knobs, and more).
- Satin finishes on soft metals.
- Highlighting and finishing Aluminum extrusions. (Used as a quality control tool to identify defects.)
- Inline brushed finish on Aluminum and Stainless cookware (pots and pans).
- Produce fine scratch pattern on utensils and cutlery prior to cotton buff and compound polishing.
Cleaning
- Remove oxide from precious metals.
Blending
- Blending flash and parting lines on Aluminum die cast.
