Product Characteristics
AP - High cut rate and aggressive. This is the thinnest and most pliable of all Buff & Blend material. Useful in tough metal removal applications where access may be restricted due to part shape or channels. Only available in A/O Medium.
GP - Good rate of cut while providing enhanced durability when used for general duty applications. Available in Medium, Fine, Very Fine, and S/C Very Fine.
HP - This stiff material produces an aggressive rate of cut. Designed for use on applications where precise metal removal is required. Available in A/O Very Fine only.
HS Regular - This High Strength material provides an excellent finish and flexibility along with greater tear resistance. A perfect choice when imparting the final finish on irregular shaped parts that increase the tendency for materials to tear. Available in A/O Very Fine, Medium and Coarse.
HS TYPE TH - Same as HS Regular but with extra stiffness. Useful in applications where heavy contact forces and side loading is required. Available in A/O Medium only.
HS TYPE F - Thickest of all Buff & Blend materials. Combines good flexibility with excellent finish. Useful when finishing contoured parts with critical dimensions that must be held. Available in A/O Medium only.
HS CRS - Same durable construction as High Strength Medium. Utilizes coarse grain for imparting hairline scratches on Stainless Steel and Aluminum.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Maximum R.P.M. vs. Recommended R.P.M.
For safety purposes Standard Abrasives lists the maximum safe operating speed for BriteRite products. In many cases where the product is driven by a holder, drum or mandrel, the maximum safe R.P.M. is the same as the hardware device designed to drive the corresponding BriteRite product.
Please be aware that for most BriteRite applications, Standard Abrasives recommends operating speeds lower than the maximum R.P.M. By reducing the operating speed the user will help to ensure maximum product life and performance.
