Standard Abrasives
Surface Conditioning Materials Performance & Common Applications Starting Points

Product Characteristics
FE - Most durable with highest edge durability. Best material when high contact pressure and stock removal are required. Most efficient on ferrous materials.
GP - High initial and extended rate of cut on flat surfaces and edges. Most efficient on aluminum and other soft metals. Resists loading.
RC - Highest initial rate of cut. Maintains high cut rate with light pressure. Best material for flat surface finishing. Most efficient on ferrous metals where final finish is important.
Due to Standard Abrasives' advanced manufacturing techniques and materials, all belts may be used for "low stretch" applications.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Maximum R.P.M. vs. Recommended R.P.M.
For safety purposes Standard Abrasives lists the maximum safe operating speed for BriteRite products. In many cases where the product is driven by a holder, drum or mandrel, the maximum safe R.P.M. is the same as the hardware device designed to drive the corresponding BriteRite product.
Please be aware that for most BriteRite applications, Standard Abrasives recommends operating speeds lower than the maximum R.P.M. By reducing the operating speed the user will help to ensure maximum product life and performance.
